My tools of the trade are not what you might expect. A traditional painter uses a brush and palette knife. I tend to use Cut up rags, Cut Burlap, Syringes and my favorite.... Turkey Basters! Each tool gives me a unique way to apply my medium in new ways to create something that it completely original and thought provoking.
Often an inspiration for a painting or new style I use comes at odd times. I have found that during rest or relaxation, that the creative side of my brain does its best work. I have been asleep and suddenly woke up from a dream with the perfect idea. Off to the studio I go to get down on canvas what my brain was showing me in my dream. The shower is also another place that I often come up with answers to ideas that I am struggling with. I also find that just sitting down with a blank canvas with no preconceived idea lets me relax and the painting usually paints itself. When I am done with the piece, I often take a step back and say "Wow.. Where did that come from?"
I hope that when you view my artwork that you see a little into your own life and some of mine as well.
